Aedes East International Forum for Contemporary Architecture e.V. is pleased to present the exhibition Water–Curse or Blessing!? in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The exhibition was curated by Ulla Giesler in the framework of the Asia-Pacific Weeks 2011 in Berlin.
The project is traveling from Berlin to Phnom Penh for Our City Festival and brings together voices from the Asia-Pacific region to reflect on issues and challenges of Water and the environmental and social impact. The exhibition presents 25 infrastructural, architectural, planning and artistic projects with exemplary local, problem-orientated solutions, which have been implemented in China, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Emirates, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and Australia.
The original exhibition panels written in English and German are now accompanied by a Khmer translation and were installed as boxes. In the context of Our City Festival the exhibition is set up in a space in the garden of No Problem Park in Phnom Penh, a French Colonial era villa – with the intent of making them accessible to a wide public.
