“Dancing with utopia” is about the day-to-day business of creative industries. In the Netherlands, the notion of creative capital as an important instrument in urban policies and in branding the city is already quite accepted. Berlin, awarded “City of Design” status by UNESCO in 2006, is considered to be an incubator of the creative industries. What does reality look like? Can one regard urbanity as the matrix of creativity? What future and potential will creative industries have – and above all: what utopia are we talking about?
