Mada s.p.a.m., Shanghai in Wien
The young Chinese architecture firm MADA s.p.a.m. (strategy, planning, architecture, media), founded in Shanghai in 1999 by Ma Qingyun, is successful with gigantic building volumes in China and maintains world-class design and quality standards.
The exhibition MADA On Site presents the dynamic and experimental work of MADA s.p.a.m. in relation to China's social conditions. For them, architecture is a polemical response that encompasses a wide range of realities and desires. The exhibition explores new responses to China's modern building activity.
