Drei Bauten von Karl Schwanzer

Karl Schwanzer, who was born in Vienna in 1918 and died there in 1975, was one of the most important architects and university lecturers of his time in Austria. From the multitude of recognised buildings, his residence in Vienna from 1962, the BMW buildings in Munich from 1973 and the Austrian Embassy in Brasilia from 1975 will be on display in the exhibition.

These selected buildings are photographed by Sigrid Neubert, who was a sought-after architectural photographer from the 1950s until 1990, when she began to devote herself more to the subject of nature.

This exhibition makes visible the sensitive interplay of two artists whose work was independent of each other and yet became one work: Construction - Art - Photography. In his book Architecture with Passion, Karl Schwanzer writes: "Architecture is materialised poetry." This poetry is palpable in Sigrid Neubert's photographs.
