Behnisch, Behnisch & Partner, Stuttgart
In 1989 Behnisch & Partner opened a subsidiary office in downtown Stuttgart with Stefan Behnisch as its principal. In 1991 this practice became independent. In the meantime it has realised, under the name of Behnisch, Behnisch & Partner, numerous projects which have a gained world-wide reputation, for example the Institute for Forestry and Nature Research in Wageningen, the Netherlands (1998), the St. Benno Gymnasium in Dresden (1996) and the headquarters for the insurance company LVA in Lübeck (1997), the latter two having received a RIBA award in 1998.
The exhibition in Aedes East presents architecture models, sketches and drawings illustrating how thoughts and concepts which run through the history of the Behnisch practices, though not always consciously, come to the fore again and again to be further developed and elaborated.
