Palast der Republik - 'Cold War Museum' and 'Steel and Freedom'

Opening Studio Exhibition

Students of University of Yale and University of Columbia present designs for the site of the Palace of the Republic in Berlin-Mitte. 11 Students of Stefan Behnisch (Stefan Behnisch is Distinguished Professor, Eero Sarinen Chair at University of Yale) designed a 'Cold War Museum' with conference center, shops, bar and restaurant. For the same site 12 students of Lars Spuybroek (Lars Spuybroek is Visiting Professor at GSAP Columbia University New York) developed a rethinking of Cedric Price's Fun Place using steel as 'Material of Freedom'.
